Jean A. St. Martin
Jean A. St. Martin is a principal in Andre, Morris & Buttery's Business and Real Estate Transactions and Environmental and Land Use Practice Groups. Jean received her B.A. degree, magna cum laude, in Urban Planning & Development from the University of Southern California. She also received her J.D. degree from the University of Southern California in 1999. Jean joined Andre, Morris & Buttery in the spring of 2000. Using her prior work experience in various real estate-related fields, Jean concentrates her practice in real estate and land use, environmental law and business law.
A sampling of the matters Jean has handled includes:- Completed a variety of real property transactions, from standard residential purchase and sale agreements to multi-million dollar commercial property transactions.
- Drafted various agreements required in processing tentative and final map applications, including Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions ("CC&Rs") for residential, commercial and mixed use projects, open space agreements, easements and the formation of mutual water companies formed in connection with residential subdivisions.
- Handled the formation and dissolution of various business entities, including limited liability companies, corporations and partnerships, as well as provided counsel and advice on various operational issues encountered in the day-to-day business of these entities.
- Assisted in drafting the agreement to transfer a former commercial wharf in Avila Beach, California along with related facilities and equipment to the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. This agreement also provided the University with a $3.5 million endowment to support educational programs and the maintenance of the wharf.
Jean is a graduate of the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program and is a member of the American Planning Association ("APA"). Jean is also a member of the San Luis Obispo County Women Lawyers Association and currently serves on the board for the Children's Museum at the Paso Robles Volunteer Firehouse.
