Beth A. Marino
Beth A. Marino is a principal in Andre, Morris & Buttery's Business and Real Estate Transactions and Employment Law Practice Groups. Beth received her B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She received her J.D. degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and was admitted to the California Bar in 1997. Beth joined Andre, Morris & Buttery after practicing for several years with Keesal, Young & Logan in Long Beach, California. Beth concentrates her practice in business law, real property law and employment law.
Examples of the types of matters Beth has handled are:- Advised and assisted a group of local investors in negotiating and closing the leveraged buy-out of a Los Osos based company that manufactures power conversion products for the medical, aviation, defense, and communications industries. Advised on all aspects of the transaction, including the stock purchase, related corporate reorganization, and the financing arrangements.
- Represented sellers in the sale of the Long Beach World Trade Center and Hilton Hotel.
- Assisted in the start-up of B2B joint business venture between an international car manufacturer and a national technology company and served as outside general counsel for the resulting new entity, assisting with intellectual property matters, employee matters, licensing issues and the creation of a stock option plan.
- Represented numerous corporate clients in the sale and purchase of businesses and real property, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, formation of business entities, distribution and licensing agreements, commercial and real estate leasing, intellectual property, maintenance of corporate records, employment agreements, corporate finance and securities matters.
- Counseled employers regarding hiring and firing issues, employee handbooks and personnel policies, privacy issues, stock options and the negotiation of employee and independent contractor agreements.
Beth is a member of the San Luis Obispo County Women Lawyers Association. She is also active in the local business community and currently serves as Director and Board Counsel for the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce.
